International Parent Calendar

Helpful tips for the first year at TU

For some, the University of Tulsa is a home away from home. This calendar contains helpful information and tips as your student navigates the exciting months ahead. The publication will guide you through important things to know and do, but may not cover every question you have. The dates and events are listed according to the information available at the time of publication and are subject to change. Our goal is to help your student be successful at The University of Tulsa. The International Student Services office is here to support your student each step of the way. Before arrival, make sure that your student regularly checks email. After arrival at The University of Tulsa, all communications from faculty and campus offices will be sent to your student’s TU email address which should be checked daily.

Dear TU Family,

Congratulations on your student’s admission to The University of Tulsa, and welcome to TU. Along with life-changing opportunities, the transition to college brings questions and a broad mix of emotions for students and (probably even more so) for their families. Be assured that our International Student Services unit keeps working beyond the admission process and straight through to graduation day; we maintain a network of support offices to meet our students’ academic, social and health needs.

This publication provides tips for helping your student make a smooth transition to college. It also notes several important dates, useful web links, featured support offices and often-used email addresses.

On behalf of all of us on campus, I wish your family our best as you close the books on one chapter and begin a new one of learning, friendship and growth here at TU.

Best regards,

Welcome from the president of the Association of International Students

Dear International Students,

On behalf of the Association of International Students (AIS), I would like to welcome you all to the vibrant TU family! TU is home to over 900 international students from 68 countries, and each and every international student brings a unique value to the diverse campus community. At TU, there are endless opportunities for you to get involved; from academic research to community service, to representing your culture on stage and more. No matter who you are and where you come from, you will be able to find your place at TU. The Association of International Students (AIS) aims to bring a sense of belonging to all international students in TU through various multicultural activities and we highly encourage you to take part in our fun and engaging events throughout the year. Every year, the AIS team puts in our full effort in bringing a variety of events to students across campus, including sports activities, cultural awareness, panel discussions, community services and more.

We are excited to meet you all in the upcoming semester, and we hope you have a fulfilling and enjoyable time here at TU.

Semoga berjaya! (All the best!)
